Look What We Have Here

Here are some boots from Isabel Marant's Spring 09 collection.

I say they're pretty hot, don't you think?

Well, I guess I wasn't the only one who thought so. Below we have a pair of boots, from clothing company, Zara (who is known for doing such forbidden things, lol)

I know Isabel Marant is reaaaally mad at Zara for this one.

P.S Yes I own a pair of these myself :-)

DSquared2

MAC always comes up with new way to keep us coming back! This week MAC released the DSquared2 collection, which includes a collaboration with fashion duo Dean and Dan Caten. The DSqaured2 collection was based upon their Fall/Winter Runway show, which I shall say myself was fierce. The collection most def has the true rocker feel to it, with heavy dark eyes and pale pink lips. The whole DSquared collection yells hot ish, but the item I'm most excited about is the Greasepaint. Greasepaint comes in three colors....

V Greasepaint-Bright Blue Violet
B Greasepaint-Bright Yellow Blue
Intense Black Greasepaint
And my second big thrill is the Lip Erase, all I can say is ooh la la! Lip Erase is a flesh toned gloss that gives the same look of the DSquared2 Fall/Winter 2009 runway show.

Greasepaint and Lip Erase is major must!! Be sure to check out the rest of the collection at MAC Cosmetics

Janet (Miss Jackson, is ya nasty) is taking no prisoners! She has been going awf with her wardrobe during Fashion Week in Milan. This picture above was taken as she attended the annual amFAR (Foundation for Aids Research) on Monday night. That cinched waist is everything.

Heard Em All

Here's the cover art for Amerie's new album In Love & War. If you haven't seen her new music video for single "Heard Em All", check it out below.

It does resemble RiRi's Disturbia, somewhat. Still in it's own lane, though. For some reason, this is the only song where I can hear her asian accent.

They're Baaaaaack!

So, if you're someone who cares about their social life, it was like an unspoken law to turn your tv to MTV and tune in to the season premiere of The Hills and The City. I'm here to give a little re-cap for the losers, oh I mean, readers who missed it. I'll forgive you this go-round. Don't let it happen again, k? K.

First we'll start with The Hills. If you've been keeping up with the previews to the first episode, we were already aware of the return of Bad Girl, Kristin. Now after seeing the episode, I think she deserves a more 'fitting' title. Queen Bitch will do. Not even 10 minutes into the show and she is already into it with Audrina and Stephanie. Within 20 minutes she's snatched up bachelor, Justin Bobby. Speaking of Justin Bobby he looks so gross now. Like, the whole rugged look was attractive last season. But now it looks like he's been in a cave since last season. Like, aren't these girls tired of sharing boys. That's so 2007.

The City was equally full of drama. A new face by the name of Roxy is already talking smack about Whitney. Then no more than 20 minutes later, she's asking to sleep on Whitney's couch. What a b*tch? Let's just add her to my 'Ew' list. Ok, I'm back. Olivia, from UpTown, is now at Elle Magazine and is already threatening to some people, especially to a girl by the name of Erin, who feels she "thinks she's more qualified than she really is." Basically, she's saying "Don't hire her, because she's going to come after my job after a while." If you know Olivia like I know Olivia, I'm pretty see you could see that disaster in the making, which is exactly what happens when she's put on her first task. A little big argument sparks when Erin questions Olivia's decision. Well not so much question, but diss her look only to be met with a "If you don't like it, you can do it yourself." I love her and all her bitchiness. Get in.

YOUR MEMOIRS INTRIGUE ME

Mariah Carey loves her LAMBS. That's what she calls her fans. And she proves it by producing an album that some say could very well be along the lines of 1998's "Butterfly" a masterpiece if I say so my! Mrs Nick Cannon herself returns with her twelfth studio album, "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel", in stores and online today! She reply heavily on the duo Tricky Stewart and The-Dream for writing and producing, a formula which seems to work. It has its mishaps, like the catchy but sometimes corny "Obsessed" the lead single off the album. The album opens with a story of sorts, "Betcha Gon Know" which leads into "Obsessed" which seems out of place. "H.A.T.E.U." is the third trackl and could very well be the best song on the LP. It stands for HAVING A TYPICAL EMOTIONAL UPSET. This song shows Mariah's pain in it's finest. Which leads me to the following. "Candy Bling" might sound like something you don't want to listen to, but believe me, this song drives the album right on home. She samples Ahmad's 1994 "Back In the Day" for this cut. "BACK IN THE DAY, WE WERE IN LOVE, WE'RE NOT IN LOVE ANYMORE. BUT SOME DAYS I SIT AND WISH WE WERE IN LOVE AGAIN." THE MID TEMPO GROOVE TAKES YOU BACK AND THE SNAPS MAKE IT SEEM SO FRESH AND NEW. Other songs to take notice to are "Ribbon" and "It's a Wrap", which has an old school, doo wop feel to it. "Up Out My Face" once again shows how comical Mariah can be, but oh so serious at the same time. She bring it back with a band on the reprise, which I can see any college band playing at a homecoming halftime. "The Impossible" is a slow, sensual ballad perfect for a late night rendezvous with your favorite person of choice. You get so caught up in the song, that you don't realize that it has ended and "The Impossible (reprise)" is wrapping itself around you. Mariah ends the album so perfectly with "Angel (Prelude)" where she whistles her way into "Angels Cry". "Languishing (interlude)" sets up for her cover of Foreigner's hit "I Want To Know What Love". After hearing this album, you will know the ins and outs, the ups and downs of love through the eyes of an Imperfect Angel.

What Do You Guys Think?

There are trends. They're set every season. & if you don't follow them, consider yourself not a friend of Anna Wintour.

Joooking! Lol. I doubt Anna Wintour even has friends. But anywho, one trend that has lasted amongst the seasons is the 'boyfriend' look. Model, Agyness Deyn pulls it off the best, if you ask me. But that's probably because of that butch cut she has. The baggy jeans, oversized blazers and button-down shirts, top hats, and all other looks that you see on guys have been put on females and looks just as good.

I know some of my friends HATE it with a passion. Their argument has something to do with the lack of feminity that it gives females. Then I have my friends that look better in a blazer than me. They say it gives them a little freedom. They can hold off on the skinny leg jeans for a day or two and give their legs room to breathe.

My question to our LLM readers is 'What do you think of the 'boyfriend' look?'

NYFW Re-Cap: Rebecca Taylor

A refreshing collection is like Heaven on Earth. & that's exactly what you get at Rebecca Taylor for her Spring RTW 2010 Collection.

Normally, you would expect leopard prints and florals, but this go 'round there was a more feminine look with strong sillhouettes.

You could see shoulders waists and legs this season. I love it. Those dresses from previous collections were replaced with some sexier pieces: polka-dot high-waist denim shorts, metallic trousers, and quilted boyfriend jackets with bright tulip prints. Ruffles were given to us in smaller doses than usual. Overall, the collection is super dope and sexy. I'm sure I'll spot someone wearing something from this collection in an instance. Try me. :)

NYFW Re-Cap: Isaac Mizrahi

What do you get when you put a Hollywood soundstage, a rain machine, and a golf cart together? Isaac Mizrahi. This season, Mizrahi showed his a**!

The show was entitles Astaire Case (Ostacle Course) with menswear-ish elements that met the fifties era. Mizrahi held hints of deconstruction with jackets that had unfinished lapels. I think my favorite part of the collection was the sequined minidresses that are perfect for a cocktail night out. Oh, and the hirsute tinsel coat that was spotted on the runway screams premiere night down. Along with these, there were tulles that looked like they had been just wrapped about the body, floaty watercolor chiffons, and chic black and white numbers that were meant for a day on Palm Beach.

"I still believe that fashion has to be gorgeous and colorful and fun. That's entertainment." -Isaac Mizrahi

Facebook film role for Timberlake

Timberlake won an Emmy for his guest appearance on a US comedy series
Pop star and actor Justin Timberlake has landed a role in the forthcoming Facebook movie, according to reports.

Film trade paper Variety said the singer would play Sean Parker, who became Facebook's founding president.

David Fincher is directing The Social Network, which was scripted by The West Wing's Aaron Sorkin.

Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield have also been lined up to star in the project, which starts filming next month in Boston.

The movie will focus on the overnight success of Facebook, which was created in 2004 on the campus of Harvard University.

Eisenberg, best known for starring in The Squid and the Whale and Adventureland, will play the main character Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's chief executive officer.

Timberlake, who has won several Grammy awards for his music and recently picked up an Emmy for his appearances on Saturday night Live, has acted in films such as The Open Road and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

New Jackson song to be released

Jackson died two weeks before he was due to return to the stage in London
An unheard Michael Jackson song is to be released as a single next month.

This Is It, which features backing vocals by Jackson's brothers, will go on sale on 12 October.

Jackson's record label Sony Music said the song would also appear on a new album, as will unheard versions of his classic hits.

It is not clear when Jackson wrote and recorded the new track. The pop star had been working with artists like Akon and Will.i.am before his death in June.

The song will be the first new material to see the light of day since he died.

It takes its name from the ill-fated series of comeback shows that were to have been held at London's O2 arena.

"This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows - that Michael is one of God's greatest gifts," said John McClain, the music executive who is co-executor of his will and has co-produced the new two-disc album.

The first disc will feature his greatest hits, ending with the new song.

The second disc will include previously unreleased versions of his best-loved tunes.

The new song will also feature in the closing credits of a film, called This Is It, which has been made using footage of rehearsals for his O2 concerts.

Dopeness On A Stick

I just have one question.

Where can I cop one this neckpiece that crazy girl, Georgina Sparks, wore in the season premiere of Gossip Girl?

We need that in LLM's closet. Which is GROWING. I'm so excited. We might have to show you all. ;-)

NYFW Re-Cap: Diane von Furstenberg

Don't worry people, I won't do a re-cap on EVERY collection, lol. Just a few that I thought caught my eye and might tickle your fancy. Bare with me.

DVF's Spring collection seemed to pick up right here her Fall 09 left off. This season gave me much Egytian nomad tease with the tiger-print safari suits and leopard-spot shirtdresses. You could also see some floral-appliqué chiffon and a daisy-chain maxi dress that made my heart flutter. Although the show was full of dresses, there were also a few tailored pieces sprinkled in there every now and then. Variety always wins: printed-silk and lace-foil belted jackets aren't really office wear but the "silhouette is on trend". There was a mix of over-the-top, but with some more ground looks that made this collection go awf!
